1961 Jaguar Mark II 3.4 Manual Overdrive
This is a family heirloom, a car with well over twice the asking.price spent on it in the 37 years my family has owned it.I was reviewing the reams of paperwork and found that my our first restoration cost 38k and I have spent at least 30k since 1997 when I took the car on from my father. That’s a lot of money for a Mark 2 but its a lot of years ownership and may happy memories. Selling the car may be the worst decision I take given the years of “investment”, experiences, trips and pure joy this car brings. The subject of two restorations, my father in the late 80’s, then me over the last 6 years.A 1961 Mark 2 3. 4. Straight through exhaust, carbs on trumpets, electronic ignition, alternator conversion, hydro-mechanical power steering, vicarage steel tilt and slide sunroof, bonnet louvres, Coombs spats, upgraded springs and anti roll bar, FM upgrade to original HMV radio (pointless because you cant hear it over the beautiful sound of the engine on full chat), body coloured competition spec wire wheels, electric choke, original moss box, upgraded CMC wiper conversion. This will not win prizes, it has patina and imperfections, but its now built to last, rock solid and reliable, it will win your affection. Its fabulous and I would drive it anywhere. It has menace and presence and will hold its own at any occasion.Far too much to mention here. If you are serious call me, only considering selling to raise funds for an e-type.
