1970 Land Rover Series II
TAX Exempt, MOT Exempt, ULEZ Exempt. For sale is my Land Rover Series 2A. This has been in my family for a few years and has had a full chassis up rebuild circa 2014, including engine, gearbox, loads of panels etc. Thousands spent ! 1970 registered (G Suffix chassis number indicating made late 1969 or early 1970 after the switch to headlights in wings). Tax exempt, MOT Exempt and ULEZ Exempt. 2.25 Diesel engine. It was rebuilt with many new parts/panels of which some are series S2a/S3, e.g. S3 dash, and some are aftermarket original pattern. So, it is not a pure all ‘original parts’ Series 2a anymore. It is probably more series 3 than a 2a on the surface now, but it is a really nice looking restored landy. Just added a brand new exmoor trim sand coloured soft top. So hard or soft top available in the price. You will need to fit the hard top back on if you want it. It is let down a little by a few small areas of paint which unfortunately were caused by a ‘pressure washer’ accident. It does drive like a 52 year old landy though! Open to any inspections. Would also consider a swap for a good condition defender or late model L322 5.0 petrol Range Rover or possibly 4.4TDV8. Would part ex for a 50th anniversary defender. Might also consider a swap/PX for something else. NOTE: I have just replaced the fuel lifter pump, fuel filter, cleaned out the fuel lines. However at the moment the high pressure diesel injector pump is playing up and not sending any fuel to the injectors. So it needs a new/recon part, which is about a grand fitted I think. Therefore, open to sensible offers. Please do not contact me to offer to sell it for me, and no, I won’t export it. Consider a SWAP/PX for a good condition Bentley Mk Vi or R-type, or possibly something else classic, or a sensibly priced esprit (not red) or low mileage Aston Martin DB9 or Vantage (not a knackered one lol) or perhaps something unusual …
